Maintaining a Habit of Reading

In our modern society, it is necessary for us to constantly learn new knowledge to keep up with the technological advances in science. The best way of doing this is to maintain a regular habit of reading.


By reading a scientific magazine, we can remain up-to-date with all the latest scientific inventions. If we are reading magazines written in English, regular reading will make it easier for us to remember the many new words we come across.

In short, nowadays it is very important to maintain a habit of reading if we are to be successful in the word.

The Advantages of Reading a Newspaper

There are many important things that happen in the world everyday. One way of knowing about these things is to read the newspaper.


Besides giving us-up-date coverage of world events, the newspaper also has a literature section. Here we can read good essays and stores written by famous authors. By reading this section, we can also learn to write better compositiond.


In short, reading a newspaper keeps us informed of world events and helps improve our writing ability. We should get into the habit of reading the newspaper everyday.

The Hardship and Joy of Composing a Composioion

Writing a good composition, be it in English or another language, requires much skill and perseverance. so many find it hard to write a composition and always give up.


When  we compose a composition, we must keep to the subject we in tend to write about. We must use appropriate words and spell correctly. When we have finished we will have a composition that is enjoyable  to read.


If we are not afraid of difficulty when composing a composition,  we will find this a very rewarding pastime .

My Home Life

Every morning my mother wakes me up at six o'clock. I then get dressed and eat breakfast, which my mother has prepared for me. At seven o'clock I go to work.


As I have much work to do in my job, I always return home before half past nine in the evening. When I arrive home, my mother prepares dinner for me. After dinner I sit in my favorite chair and relax by listening to music. I then studying my school lesson or homework.


Although my family is not rich, we are very close to each other and I love the time. I love my family.

The Typhoon

A typhoon is a tropical storm in the area of the Pacific Ocean. August and September is the typhoon season for Taiwan. When a typhoon comes , it brings heavy rains and high winds. Fences are blown down, trees uprooted, and power lines cut. The damage to people and property is often beyond measure.


Typhoons are hated by everyone but I like typhoon break. we all look forward to them.  Like it or not, we cannot fight typhoons. All we can do is prepare against their coming, and rebuild after they are gone.
       

"Thank you and I'm sorry"

All of us hope to live happy lives. So, we saying"Thank you and I'm sorry" always will make you a happier person. As a matter of fact, someone may give you a hand when you are in trouble or a gift on your birthday. At the moment, it is considered polite for you to say "Thank you" in return for his or her kindness. It is also believed to be very common that you may somehow do something wrong and find this makes someone else feel bad. Immediately, you'd better say "I'm sorry" to make an apology to him or her. While you are saying "Thank you or I'm sorry" to others, they're bound to feel good and forgive you more readily, and vice versa. In other words, everyone likes such a person as says "Thank you and I'm sorry" can get along easily with his friend.

Father' Day

　On October 8 is father'day. So I went shopping in downtown Taipei day before October 8 to buy him a gift. I went there alone by MRT. It took me half an hour or so to get to Taipei. Then I got off the MRT and walked to a department store.
   
It is a big department store, in which there's a large variety of goods. The women's department is on the first floor, where shoes, dresses and cosmetics of all kinds can be bought. On floor two is the men's department, which seems not so luxurious as the women's department.

Here I bought a white tie with yellow stripesfor two thouand dollars. I gave it to my father on father'day. Both he and I like it so much.
