My Time of Happines Each Day

Now, I am Technical Support Engineer and studying English in Lung-Hwa University of Science and Technology every weekend, most of time is spent in my job and school course. Consequently, my time of happines each day is very limited.

However, this is not to say that I am not happen every day. In fact, I really enjoy coming home from company each night and having dinner with my family. After dinner, I watch some TV with my family. This is a happen time for me everyday.


But my happiest time of a day is just before I fall asleep. Lying in bed, I think about all I achieved that day, and  it makes me happy to know that they was worth living.

Winter Vacation

Winter vacation is coming and so is the Chinese New Year. This winter vacation will be a relaxing vacation for me, because I will don't go to school every Saturday and Sunday.

First of all, I should also like to my English ability. English has become the international language and learning it well will be very useful to me.

In addition, since it is the holiday,I will share it with my family and friends .You know the spring festival will soon come, I believe I would chatting and play games with my friends and family .I think I will enjoy the vacation.

How to Get Along with Other People

We come into contact with many different people everyday. It is therefore very important to know how to get along with other people.
First of all, we must be able to communicate with other people in a language that they underatand. We need to make ourselves understood. 
Secondly, we should be kind to other people and show concern for them.This will enable us to make many friends. 
Thirdly, and most important of all, we need to be honest with other people. If we tell lies, they will stay far away from us.

A Sense of Humor

A sense of humor is very necessary in our lives when we are together with other people. If we lack a sense of humor other people will us boring.

We always confront many difficulties in our lives and much of the work we have to do can be dull and uninteresting. However, if we try to see the funny side of the situations we are in, we will often laugh and the other people around us will have a good laugh too.

Having a sense of humor makes our lives interesting.

Computers and Man

Today, our live depend very much on the processing and exchange of information. To help us perform these tasks, we make use of computers which can process and store much information in a short time.

Indeed, many people say we are living in a "computer word". Our use of computers has increased so much that we now depend on them for just about everything. Some people say this is not good for us. They say computers have taken the place of men in too many areas, thus creating unemployment and other social problems.

Despite these problems, I believe computers are necessary because our progress depends on them. To me, this is the most important influence computers have on man.

Dear Mom

I also want to tell mom one thing : I love you so much. You are a career woman , I know you  work very hard and feel tired everyday. You get up early to prepare our breakfast and every time you come home and see the messy house, I know you are very angry with me. But, you always say nothing and clean up the house. I always want to help you but I have much work to do in my job and lesson of the school to do. After I finish my things I feel like dying. I really want to help you , I am so tired, too.

The Benefits of Exercise

I have gained 7 kilograns after enter LHU. Because half work and half study are always busy and as a result ignore exercies. For the sake of my health, it is important to emphasize again the benefits of exercise.

When I eat too much and exercise too little I become fat. I know that being fat often leads to sickness, so I should keep fit by exercising. Exercise strengthens my muscles and enable us to stay healthy. After exercising we feel full of energy.

The benefits of exercise are number. If I want to enjoy good health, make exercise a regular part of my life.

A day Spent at the Seashore

A few year ago, It was sunny day. I went to the seashore with my China friend in New Zealand.  It was such a wonderful day that I can never forget it.

Although the sun was extremely hot, the sea was very cool which made swimming very pleasant. The scenery was nice. Beyond the golden sand stretched the deep- blue sea.

My day at the seashore made me feel very relaxed and it was a wonderful experience.

The Sea

Of all the natural scenery that exists in the world, perhaps the sea is the most beautiful of all. I love the sea.

The sea is sometimes very calm and this is a good time for swimming. There are also times, for example when a typhoon is approaching, and the sea is very rough. Although at such times swimming is very dangerous it is still fascianating just to look at the sea.

I hope that all of us can experience the sea and learn more about the natural beauty of the world. 

Always Try Your Best

When we do something, It does not really matter if we succeed or fail at it. Rather, what is important is whether we gave it our best try or not.

On the one hand, some people worry too much about winning and losing. They think winning is all that matters. Normally, these people get very discouraged when they happen to lose.

On the other hand, some people place trying hand above winning and losing. To them, it is not whether you win or lose, but how well you played the game. This applies to everything we do, so it is important to remember to always try your best.

To Learn from Failure

Whenever we do anything, we should keep in mind that "failure is the mother of success. "In other words, we can still succeed at everything we try to do. 

Now, Learning English isn't anything but difficult to me. At the beginning, I always came upon obstacles in my English learn. Always I even felt frustrated because of some problems. But those of us who can learn from these mistakes or failures will probably stand a better chance of tobe fluent in Chinese and English.

In sum, to learn from failure is an important key to success no matter who I am or what I do. So, if at first I do not succeed, try , try, again!

Half work and half study

Now I am in addition to improve the professional techniques in automatic control and studing Englssh in Lung-Hwa University of Science and Technology every weekend. Being a student is a very fun. I can receive instruction from my teachers and discuss problems with my classmates.


Always, Half work and half study can be dull and borning. Every day I must work hard and do much school's homework, so that I can not but sacrifice much of my lisure time. I often feel tired and gradually lose interest in English.


In my opinion, howerver, Half work and half study are the best days of our lives. I must work hard and use our time wisely.

Going to the Dentist

If there is anything I dread most in life, it has to be going to the dentist. Although I know the dentist can only to good things for me, I still fear him.

Like many other people. I do not like the drills used by the dentist. Even the sound of the drill makes me nervous. All told, I dread sitting in the dentist's chair.

Hower, when the dentist is through working on my teeth, I usually feel good, because I know my teeth will be healthier. In the end, I have to admit that going to the dentist is both a dreadful and a happy experience.

The True Meaning of Happiness

The majority of people do not know the true meaning of happiness. They think that the rich are always happy, but they do'nt know money cannot buy
happiness.

What is the true meaning of happiness? In my opinion, one who works hard to do his best and whose main aim is to help others will always be happy.

I am not sure I fully understand the true meaning of happiness, but I plan to always work hard and study hard to do . I think I will know the meaning of happiness some day.

Money Is Not Everything

In now hustle and bustle world, many people think that money is everything. They seem to forget that there are many other things in my life and that are more important than money.

For example, is money more important than time? In my view, those who think money is more valuable than time are putting the cart before the horse!

While money is important in everyday life, it will never be as valuable as time, and it will never come close to the value of love. In truth, money is only one thing in life, not everything.

New Energy - solar energy

I think the solar energy will be widely used in the near future because the nature resource in the earth is decreasing soon. In all alternative sources of energy, an inexhaustible supply of solar energy, clean, safe, free from monopoly, unlike oil and thermal power generation would lead to environmental pollution, it can be sustainable development and use of the new generation of energy.

After all, that’s the representative of renewable energies, and supplied by semi-permanent and vast amount of resources. As the quality of living improves, the demand of energy sources of human beings will also increase. However, due to the massive consumption of current energy sources on earth, many different types of renewable energy sources have been developed. Out of all the renewable options of energy sources, solar energy could be considered the most suitable, because it is the most abundant energy source.

If the energy from the sun could be effectively converted, it would provide energy needed for human beings to use in the future.

Advantages of Getting Up Early

An old saying “Early bird has worms to eat”. In the other words, you can get more benefits from getting up early. If you get more early up, you must be have more spare time to do more things.

First, getting up early is good for our health. A proverb says: "Early to bed and early to rise makes a man healthy, wealthy and wise." Second, our minds are clearer in the mornings and so we can study more efficiently. Third, we can get to school or go to the office on time.

It is very important to get up early. The advantages of getting up early cannot be overemphasized.

Weekends

In industrialized countries like ours, people always look forward to weekends. After a week's hard work we are tired, and on Saturdays and Sundays we can get the rest we need or take time to enjoy ourselves.

During an average weekend, many people go to movies with friends or family. If weather permits, some people choose to go to picnick or comping in the countryside.

Now It is very tired for me. I am studing foreign languages in Lung-Hwa University of Science and Technology every Saturdays and Sundays. Studying in Foreign language is always hard at the beginning, but I’ll get over that.

Work and Play

When we work to is tired, we must look for fun, but we must make the suitable rest and recreation, cannot rock in the amusement, this work time on this striving, the time which should play heartily plays, must the operating time with a time minute clarity which plays, when therefore our work time must do with all one's strength and complete, but plays time spends the complete energy to play, the work is lives, plays is whiles away the time, this difference in we live must certainly divide are very clear.

We should live balanced lives. Work may enable us to earn money, but if we work too hard we will get sick and then we fell miserable and will not be able to do any work at all.

Playing games or just taking a walk or sitting with the family are ways to help us relax. By relaxing ourselves. we will be able to live happily.

Living and Learning

We cannot live without learning. If one stops learning. If one stops learning. If one stops learning, one's life would become difficult. By not acquiring knowledge, one may also have a hard time getting along with others.


In my opinion, we must not stop learning, because knowledge is power. The world is changing rapidly and if we wish to keep abreast of these changes, we must constantly expand our knowledge. Then that make myself more competitive on the job market.


Now I am in addition to improve the professional techniques in automatic control and studing Englssh in Lung-Hwa University of Science and Technology every weekend. I strive to sharpen my English ability in order to be more competitive on the job.

Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow

Yesterday has been past, and today we are still here; what we seek for is tomorrow. However, the three days associate with each other, no one can run without any of them.


Yesterday is either forgotten or else remembered as a series of past experiences. Today is the time that we must make the of now. If we use today well we will have a good memory and we can live more comfortably in the future. Tomorrow contains our future hopes and plans.


Today is more important than yesterday and tomorrow. We must remember the saying : "Never put off until tomorrow what you can do today."

Never Put Off Until Tomorrow What You Can Do Today

There is no one who does not want to be successful in life, but in practice there are very few who are really successful. Why is this? I believe it is because many people put off the things they should do today until tomorrow.


For example I once decided I would begin preparing for the monthly examination on Monday. However, when Tuesday came, I decided to start on Wednesday. On Wednesday I decided to wait until Thursday. In the end I did not have the time to prepare and I failed in the exam.


From then on I would never put off anything important until the next day.

Keeping a Diary

Keeping a diary has a few advantages. One of them is that it can help built our character. A diary enable us to keep a record of the thing we have done and also of the things that are happening in the world around us. In later years it will serve as a good reminder of the things we did and the circumstances that we were in. Therefore, a diary is also a summary of our growing process.


Keeping a diary can also improve our ability to write compositions, be they in English or Chinese. Therefore we should all make it a rule to keep a diary, beginning to ady. Many people are of the opinion that keeping a diary takes up too much time. However, some of the busiest men in history regularly kept a diary.

How to Improve My English

English is now the international language and so it is very important to learn English well. Therefore, I am studing English in Lung-Hwa University of Science and Technology every weekend. Discovering ways to improve my English is a problem which baffles for me.


But how to learn English in a sufficient way? Frequent listening, reading, writing, and researching based on daily life will be necessary. First of all, I have to learn many English words and reading English book, regular reading will make it easier for me to remember the many new words we come across. Secondly, besides learning to read English, I must learn to understanf sporken English, and practice speaking and writing. Thirdly, find a person with good English rectifies from already of article.


There is no short cut to learning English. If I am prepared to work hard at it, we will be successful in the end.

Maintaining a Habit of Reading

In our modern society, it is necessary for us to constantly learn new knowledge to keep up with the technological advances in science. The best way of doing this is to maintain a regular habit of reading.


By reading a scientific magazine, we can remain up-to-date with all the latest scientific inventions. If we are reading magazines written in English, regular reading will make it easier for us to remember the many new words we come across.

In short, nowadays it is very important to maintain a habit of reading if we are to be successful in the word.

The Advantages of Reading a Newspaper

There are many important things that happen in the world everyday. One way of knowing about these things is to read the newspaper.


Besides giving us-up-date coverage of world events, the newspaper also has a literature section. Here we can read good essays and stores written by famous authors. By reading this section, we can also learn to write better compositiond.


In short, reading a newspaper keeps us informed of world events and helps improve our writing ability. We should get into the habit of reading the newspaper everyday.

The Hardship and Joy of Composing a Composioion

Writing a good composition, be it in English or another language, requires much skill and perseverance. so many find it hard to write a composition and always give up.


When  we compose a composition, we must keep to the subject we in tend to write about. We must use appropriate words and spell correctly. When we have finished we will have a composition that is enjoyable  to read.


If we are not afraid of difficulty when composing a composition,  we will find this a very rewarding pastime .

My Home Life

Every morning my mother wakes me up at six o'clock. I then get dressed and eat breakfast, which my mother has prepared for me. At seven o'clock I go to work.


As I have much work to do in my job, I always return home before half past nine in the evening. When I arrive home, my mother prepares dinner for me. After dinner I sit in my favorite chair and relax by listening to music. I then studying my school lesson or homework.


Although my family is not rich, we are very close to each other and I love the time. I love my family.

The Typhoon

A typhoon is a tropical storm in the area of the Pacific Ocean. August and September is the typhoon season for Taiwan. When a typhoon comes , it brings heavy rains and high winds. Fences are blown down, trees uprooted, and power lines cut. The damage to people and property is often beyond measure.


Typhoons are hated by everyone but I like typhoon break. we all look forward to them.  Like it or not, we cannot fight typhoons. All we can do is prepare against their coming, and rebuild after they are gone.
       

"Thank you and I'm sorry"

All of us hope to live happy lives. So, we saying"Thank you and I'm sorry" always will make you a happier person. As a matter of fact, someone may give you a hand when you are in trouble or a gift on your birthday. At the moment, it is considered polite for you to say "Thank you" in return for his or her kindness. It is also believed to be very common that you may somehow do something wrong and find this makes someone else feel bad. Immediately, you'd better say "I'm sorry" to make an apology to him or her. While you are saying "Thank you or I'm sorry" to others, they're bound to feel good and forgive you more readily, and vice versa. In other words, everyone likes such a person as says "Thank you and I'm sorry" can get along easily with his friend.

Father' Day

　On October 8 is father'day. So I went shopping in downtown Taipei day before October 8 to buy him a gift. I went there alone by MRT. It took me half an hour or so to get to Taipei. Then I got off the MRT and walked to a department store.
   
It is a big department store, in which there's a large variety of goods. The women's department is on the first floor, where shoes, dresses and cosmetics of all kinds can be bought. On floor two is the men's department, which seems not so luxurious as the women's department.

Here I bought a white tie with yellow stripesfor two thouand dollars. I gave it to my father on father'day. Both he and I like it so much.

My Bad Habit

Like everyone else, I have good and bad habits. Most of my habits don’t have a very serious effect on my daily life. Unfortunately, one of them does. 
I am a procrastinator. I always put off doing things until the last possible moment. I picked up this bad habit from my sister. This habit really causes me problem, especially when I have many assignments due about the same time. My life seems to run in cycles of leisurely heaven and incredibly frantic hell. I wish I could get rid of this terrible habit.

Newspaper

No newspaper these days contents itself with the mere presentation of news. For a very small amount of money each day, we are not simply informed of affairs of national and international importance. We are given photographs of people and places. This is not all we get for our money. There is always plenty of advice about what plays or films to see; what books to read, how we should dress, what we should eat, and where we should spend our holidays.
And in case we have nothing better to do, we are provided with the most effective of time-killers: quizzes and crossword- puzzles.

My Favorite Summer Activity

In summer it is uncomfortably hot in Taipei. So my favorite summer activity is going to the country and sit under a large tree by a little river. After sitting down, I take off my shoes and put my feet in the water. The water makes me feel cool and comfortable. I do not feel hot anymore. Then I start reading short stories or playing the game. I enjoy going to the country very much. If only I did not have to study, I would probably go to the country every day.

Today young people seem to be anxious to acquire useful knowledge to the exclusion of everything else. They seek knowledge not for its own sake, but so that they will learn how to do a job. But knowledge and education are not one and the same thing. A man may be in command of any number of facts and be brilliant at his job without necessarily being an educated person. Those who measure knowledge solely in terms of its usefulness often deliberately ignore the immense cultural heritage of the past when they regard the study of the humanities as a“waste of time.”

Tradition

Tradition is frequently misunderstood. It is often associated with beliefs which do not involve us personally; which persist for no better reason than that they are “traditional.” It is regarded as a fixed thing, rigidly hostile to change, to be defended against those who threaten to overthrow it. Nothing could be more mistaken.
Tradition is not only made up of our important beliefs, but the great host of trivial daily habits and customs we acquire in the course of growing up. Nor is it inflexible. New ideas are continually being adapted to fit in with the old. The process is slow but sure. And when old ideas become so outmoded that they no longer serve their purpose, they are discarded.

Writing and I

Writing is an important part of language learning. Taking tests and expressing meanings to others which are around me always, and I think writing is related to me a lot due to the two main reasons.

First of all, I have to take a lot of tests since I am a student. Weather in Chinese or in English, I get writing tests all the time for the two subjects.
Moreover, even though there are lots of convenient technological mechines , sending mails still plays an important roll for connecting people. Such as application of jobs or schools which is a significant thing by writing.

In conclusion, writing and I have a pround relationship because I need it to do many things. Therefore, I think writing is related to me very much.

The line graph shows the mean monthly rainfall over a one-year period in four areas--Mt Cook, Queenstown, Milford Sound, and Westport.( Generally ), the overall trends of rainfall in Milford Sound and Mt Cook are similar.

As seen from the line graph, rain in Milford Sound was( substantially )heavier than in other three places, The amount of rainfall( peaked )at around 700mm in January,( before declining dramatically )to 500mm in the next month.( After rapidly increasingto roughly 650mm in March, rainfall decreased again and then (recovered )to about 650mm in May,( which was then followed by a sharp fall to over 400mm ). From June,( there was an upward trend, )until October, When the amount climbed to the point of 700mm. November experienced a decrease and it was about 650mm in the last month.( Compared to )Milford Sound, Mt Cook's rainfall was 100mm to 300mm less, but( th overall trends were close and the range of changes in rainfall in Mt Cook was smaller than that of Milford Sound.)

It is( apparent )from the line graph that Queenstown and Westport had less rainfall than Milford Sound and Mt Cook. In Queentown, the amount was almost at the same level of 100mm over the first four months. Then it went up( moderately )to the highest point of 120mm in July. The last five months( witnessed )a fluctuation. The amount of rainfall fluctuated all year in Westport, with an upward trend from January to April and with a downward trend over the rest of the months.

In conclusion, rainfall changed( significantly )in Milford Sound and Mt Cook. However, there was little change in Queenstown and Westport.

Pie chart

The pie chart reflects what the percentage of different languages is in India. Overall, the amount of people, who speak Hindi as their mother tongue,( accounts for )the largest( share )and is larger than the other recorded languages.

( As seen from )the pie chart, Hindi Mothertongue( comprises )nearly a half of speakers.( As opposed to )Hindi Mothertongue, people who speak Hindi Trilingual ( constitutes )just 2.6%,( which )is the smallest( proportion ).Other languaages,( with )slightly over one-fifth of people,is the second highest percentage.( Where )Hindi with other MTs( is concerned ),however,Other languages( are head of )Hindi with other MTs( by a narrow margin ), roughly 22%( for the former )and 20.22%( for the latter). (As regards )Hindi Bilingual, it just( composes )6.16% of speakers.

In conclusion, Hindi ( makes up )the highest ( fraction ),( followed )by Other languages, Hindi with other MTs, Hindi Bilingual and hindi Trilingual.

Cooperative reading strategy instruction

Reading strategy is a new studying skill and I have never used this skill in English studying, however I get in touched with Gregory’s alternative reading strategy class, I learn some new skills which is easier for me to understand paragraph. I like to use “Using Context Clues” to reading and studying the context because it is efficient to me to comprehend the content, I can pass I don’t understand vocabulary and guess the meaning of the sentence to know what is the essay talking about, and then I am trying to use the “Summary the Gist” to sum up what I learn from the context. Then I become interested in English when I last session. I wasn’t the best student in class, but I have improved my English comprehension, vocabulary and conversational abilities a lot since then. I have learned how to think over an issue from different point of view and I’ve learned some very useful reading skills, developed more efficient learning methods and improved my oral English. After Lunghwa University of Science and Technology for me has been not so easy. This was the lesson of this election is because the students so I have to follow this lesson. Hearing and reading many times did enhance my English ability , but a great deal of room for improvement.

Oyster Omelet

     The oyster omelet in Taiwan is famous and popular. It is one of Taiwan great appetizers, Many people like to eat it. Some people don't like to eat oyster soup because it is fishy, but many people like oyster owelet. Because it is chewy, crispy and sweet. Beside , it contains vegetable, egg and oysters, which taste delectable, that is why many people like eating it. It includes oyster, bean sprout and cassava flour, they are full of protein, vitawin. The oldest name for the oyster omelet was "jianshizhui." It is a traditional Taiwan snack known to everyone in the older generation in the Anping area of Taiwan, and it has an interesting origin. After many years of its popularity spreading, it is a true Taiwan snack.

A Subway Station at Rush Hour

Subway system is most important transportation system in the modern city. Every weekday morning, many people rush on the way taking by subway system to their place. In only about 2 hours, the subway system takes responsible for most citizens going to work. Taipei main subway station is a most crowed station. In the morning at rush hour, many people take off at Taipei main station and transfer to another line to their destination. Even the train comes every 1.5 minutes at rush hour, but it seems not enough to let all people getting on train. Now subway system is still on the construction for the new area and will serves more and more people in the future.

Dogs and Cats as pets

Although dogs and cats are both common in many people’s house, there are several differences. One difference is eating habits. Dogs like to eat meat and cats like to eat fish. In addition, some dogs eat some fruits or vegetables but cats never show any interest in them. A second area of difference is that they have different ways of showing their feelings. For example, if a dog is wagging its tail, you would know it is

happy, whereas a cat seldom shows its feelings by action, so it is difficult to tell how it is certainly emotion regardless of joy or sadness. Moreover, if a dog licks your face, you would know it loves you, in contrast a cat never lets you know if it loves you. And the third difference is that keeping a dog as pet needs to spend time walking it every day, while raising a cat does not spend much time to walk it. All in all, though there are differencese between keeping a dog and cat, they can accompay and amuse their owners.

How to drive a teacher crazy

Teacher are easy targets. It’s not easy teaching dozens of kids at a time. I am sue that you can drive a teacher if you took the following steps. First of all, try to late for class, you can always late for ten minutes with many excuses. Secondly, when teacher is speaking, never look at the teacher or the blackboard. Then make a lot of noise in class. Third never ever do you homework on time, and say “sorry, because I have to
go to part-time job after school; therefore, I am too tired to do the homework.” Finally, when the teacher asks you questions, you either keep silent and emotionless, or give an answer which has nothing to do with the question at all. The four steps above can be boiled down to one sentence – to let the teacher feel that he or she doesn’t exist at all.

Living in a big city has many advantages

I have been living in Taipei city for 20 years. Taipei is the political and economic center. So living in a big city has many advantages. There are over 6,000,000 people living there, 60% of the population comes from other countries, because there are many vacancies in Taipei. Living in Taipei city is convenient, because there are many shops around city and it provides an efficient public transport system. Also, the city provides
plenty of entertainment facilities such as museums, art galleries, theatres, libraries and parks. Therefore, Taipei is full of vitality and diversity.

My fathe's 60 years old . He is taller than me, about 172 cm and he weights 80 kg. He's got short hair. He has been wearing glasses for 30 years. My mother is younger than him , she's 58 years old . She is shorter than him , about 155 cm and she weights 55 kg . She's got curly hair . My parents’ hair used to be black , but now it's going grey .


This is a photograph of my grandparents’village. The village has many beautiful garden. My parents visited my grandparents in Chinese new year. My father was wearing a blue shirt and red jersey. My mother was wearing a red sweater and a black and red a little flower jocket.

I really like my parents because they give all us attention to us life and education . My father retired from a state-run business when he was 55 years old . My mother is a sanitation worker . They're very hard and give us best life and education . Finally, I can only say : “I love you” .

E-mail

E-mail has become popular all over the world. It spreads so quickly because the mail can go to the address in a short time no matter how far the distance is! Besides, we don't need to go to the post office to buy stamps. It's more convenient than traditional mail. E-mail is short for electronic mail. The name itself suggests that this kind of mail is sent through electric wires. I like e-mail better than traditional mail. It makes our world smaller. Usually I can receive an answer the day after I send my e-mail. However, it doesn't mean that it is perfect. The e-mail receive has become a burden to me. I am afraid that with them that I have less time for other activities. Actually, I am bound by e-mail.

The computer is the most important thing invented in the last one hundred years. Many people were afraid of computers at first, but now they feel it's easy to use them. Computers are very interesting and useful. You can play games, write stories, even send e-mail. You can know many people   and things from on the computer and Internet. You can go shopping, read about news, movies or books. You can do almost anything on the computer. I believe that computers will become one of the most important things in our lives within the next ten years.
